Geographic Analytics
The Geography tab shows where your visitors are located, helping you understand your audience and optimize for different markets.
Overview
SiteData uses CloudFront edge location data to determine visitor geography. This provides accurate country, region, and city-level data without requiring any additional configuration.
- Country (ISO country code and name)
- Region/State (where available)
- City (where available)
- Browser language preference
Countries
The Countries section shows where your visitors are located worldwide:
- Country Name - Full country name
- Page Views - Total views from that country
- Percentage - Share of total traffic
Countries are sorted by traffic volume, showing your top markets first.
Regions & Cities
Drill down into regional and city-level data for more granular insights:
Regions
Shows states, provinces, or administrative regions within each country. Useful for:
- Regional marketing campaigns
- Understanding market concentration
- Compliance with regional regulations
Cities
City-level data shows your most active urban areas. This helps with:
- Local event planning
- Targeted advertising
- Understanding urban vs rural traffic
Languages
Language data comes from the visitor's browser settings. This tells you:
- Primary language preferences
- Regional language variants (e.g., en-US vs en-GB)
- Potential translation opportunities
